Location and sensors

The app uses foreground precise or approximate location to find nearby places and calculate distance and direction. Orientation and motion sensors rotate the compass. Raw GPS fixes and sensor readings are processed on the watch, not uploaded or recorded as a movement history. The app does not request background location.

Downloading places

When a needed area is missing or outdated, the watch requests OpenStreetMap places directly from the independently operated Overpass service at overpass-api.de using HTTPS. Requests contain rectangular search areas derived from your location, place-type filters and a generic app identifier. They do not contain your name, account, advertising identifier, saved destination or exact GPS fix.

The service receives your IP address and the requested areas. These areas reveal your vicinity; their physical size varies with latitude and may count as precise location under store definitions. This is not anonymous browsing. Overpass may retain operational request logs under its own practices. There does not operate that service and cannot guarantee its retention period or erase its logs.

Data on the watch

Downloaded areas, place information and update metadata are kept in private app storage with a 32 MiB cache limit. Saved areas can reveal locations you have visited. Updates can be requested after seven days; older cached data may still be used when offline. Old entries can be evicted for space. No Prague database is bundled.

The app remembers one selected destination, its category, name, coordinates, available published hours and selection time. It is eligible for restoration for less than one hour from selection. Waking the screen does not extend that hour. An expired record is removed when next checked; there is no background deletion timer. A running compass is not interrupted mid-walk. A new selection replaces the previous record and returning to categories clears it.

The app disables Android app backup. Clear app storage in system settings or uninstall There Global to remove its local data. You can revoke location permission at any time; nearby search and compass direction then cannot function normally.

No tracking or payments

There Global is free. It has no accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking SDKs, subscriptions or in-app purchases. There runs no application backend and receives no automatic location or crash reports from this app.

If you email support, your address and message are handled by the support mailbox to answer your request. Please avoid sending precise location or other sensitive information. You can ask for deletion of your support correspondence.

Other services

Google Play, Wear OS and network providers may process data under their own policies when distributing or running apps. If you open an external website from the app, that site receives a normal browser request. The app does not control those services.

Open data

Place data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License. Coverage and published opening hours may be missing or incorrect. Opening status is calculated from published data, not confirmed live by a venue.

Audience and changes

The app is intended for adults, including its bar-finding category, and is not directed to children. Material changes to data handling will be reflected in this policy and the store disclosure before the changed version is published.
